Paul's relationship with the church at Corinth was complex, to say the least. He had a deep love for the people and had been a key part of establishing the church, but there remained a lot of issues for him to speak into and address. His second letter is a beautiful expression of his passion to see them living full, God-filled lives, but also of wanting to see them move into maturity and leave behind unhealthy perspectives and habits that dominated their community.
